The Spirit is building….

The excitement is building on the Mater Campus! Here is some exciting news about the development of our Master Plan at the Academy of the Sacred Heart. As many of you know, our school launched a forward-focused Strategic Plan in January 2017. As we implement our Plan, “Inspiring Faith Filled Women of Courage and Confidence,” we have been moving “full steam ahead” to transform learning spaces on the Rosary and Mater campuses. The good news: We have broken ground on another capital development initiative! This project, the Mater Campus Complex, will consist of three sub projects: the construction of a [...]

Is it too late to say Happy New Year?

At the end of the first month of January, 2019, is it too late to say "Happy New Year?" Well, maybe, but is it too late to reflect a bit on how it is going? Giving Thanks

It might have been the sound of our students' voices raised in the chorus of The Sound of Music or the peeling of bells in the cupola at just the right moment in the play. Putting Faith into Action

Streetcars along St. Charles Avenue announce it. Lawn signs declare it. Recent articles in the Clarion Herald discuss it. Tweets populate it. "Our girls change the world!" Many could assume that our audacious claim describes what happens after our students graduate. Many could assume that "changing the world" denotes some substantial contribution or at least a notable one. Recently, Sacred Heart students, along with their families, faculty and staff members, challenged these assumptions with evidence of something other, even paradoxical. How can something so big, so important, so significant seem so small? Almost "hidden"? Such is the paradox of servant [...]

If it could talk….

My Sacred Heart ring tells the story of my life. If it could talk, it could tell you of the places it has been all over the world, the hands it has touched, and of the homes it has entered. If it could talk, it could tell you of the times it has been held up high in excitement, of the times it has covered my face while thinking, or of many times that it has crossed with my other hand in a prayer. This ring has travelled in the same little box that I received it in many years [...]
